Gala History

The 65 Roses Gala has a long and proud history with the Ottawa Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

The chapter has enjoyed a strong partnership with organizations such as the Ottawa Rough Rider’s football team (late 80’s – 1996) and the Ottawa Senators hockey club (1997 – 2015).  Both relationships have thrived through the Chapter’s 65 Roses Sports Club program which connects Cystic Fibrosis Canada with various professional sports teams, offering access to local sporting events while financially supporting research efforts to find a cure or effective control for this life-shortening disease.

Since its inception, the Gala has raised more than $1,000,000 dollars to help fund vital research and patient care for the over 200 families living with this disease in the Ottawa area. The Chapter’s long-standing relationship with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club for over 20 years now has significantly strengthened our outreach and awareness efforts and has leveraged important financial support bringing us one step closer to a cure.

This Gala is one of two signature events for the Ottawa CF Chapter and serves as an excellent opportunity to engage our community as well as our cystic fibrosis families, both integral contributors in our quest to find a cure.
