  • Perform the greatest magic trick of all… helping to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!

A CF Warrior has to jump through hoops every day of their lives just to do things that people take for granted, like eating… and breathing.

Performing a juggling act of therapy, medication and nutrition to keep themselves well, the average CF Warrior devotes 4 months of full time work towards this disease. Keeping all these balls in the air often challenges them to function normally within their family and/or work lives.

Even with the most diligent effort, our CF community walks a tightrope, hoping to make it to the ultimate goal of a cure, without faltering and falling along the way!

Ottawa’s CF Clinics are not funded by the government, relying upon your participation and generous donations to continue their excellent work in treatment, and astonishing progress in research. We have close to 250 CF Warriors in our community, and when you donate to Cystic Fibrosis Canada – Ottawa Chapter, you are making a direct impact in the lives of these people, their friends and families. We are closer than ever to a cure, but we CAN’T do it alone.

What are we fighting for? A CURE!

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. It is a multi-organ disease, primarily affecting the lungs and digestive system. Cystic fibrosis touches the lives of many Canadians. Every week, two Canadians are diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and one Canadian dies from this devastating disease. Cystic fibrosis is a fatal disease and there is no cure.

But investing with CF research makes a difference. Since 1960, the median age of survival has risen from 4 to past 50 years of age. Sadly, this still means that only half of those with CF will reach their late forties. We need your support in order to fund life-giving CF research that is making a real difference for thousands of Canadian families.
